Where was Joe Torre born?
Baseball icon Joe Torre was born on July 18, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York.  He became a professional baseball player at age 20, and spent time playing for the Atlana Braves, the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets. After his career as a player was over, he took on the role of manager. He had only meager success until taking over as manager for the New York Yankees in 1996. During his 11-year run as the team’s manager, the team made it to the post season every year.  They won 6 American League penants and 4 World Series.  In November 2007, Torre took over as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.Â
