Great Taste Since 1905

Where did this phrase come from?  “Great Taste Since 1905″ is actually the slogan for RC Cola.
If you’re a puzzler, this can come in handy, because the phrase “Great Taste Since 1905″ has been a clue for more than one crossword puzzle (answer = RCCOLA) including a recent October New York Times crossword.

Abscissa

The Abscissa is the x-coordinate. 
In the cartesian coordinate system in mathematics, the two coordinates are specified by two perpendicular directed lines (the x-axis or abscissa, and the y-axis or ordinate), as well as the unit length, which is marked off on the two axes.
“Abscissa” was the clue in an October 2007 NYTimes Crossword puzzle.
